New Art Center exhibit
The Staunton Augusta Art Center galleries will feature the 360-degree panoramic photography of Lexington resident James O. Phelps June 10-July 31 with the opening reception on Friday, June 10, 5-7pm.
Regular gallery hours are 10am-5pm Monday-Friday, 10am-4pm Saturday, and 1pm-4pm Sunday. Located in the R.R. Smith Center for History and Art at 20 S. New Street across from the Visitor Center and parking garage in historic downtown Staunton.

Art Center planning Golden Gala to mark 50 years
The Staunton Augusta Art Center announces its Golden Gala and biennial art auction set for May 21, 2011, at 6pm at the Stonewall Jackson Hotel and Conference Center.
Tickets are available to the general public for the dinner, auction and program which will celebrate the Staunton Augusta Art Center’s 50th year of operation. The auction phase of the evening is a biennial event which serves as an important fundraiser for the non-profit organization whose mission is to make the enjoyment and creation of visual art available to everyone and to support artists by providing them venues to teach and to exhibit and sell their work.

Staunton Augusta Art Center announces spring art classes for adults and children. All classes are taught in the R. R. Smith Center for History and Art, 20 S. New Street, Staunton, across from the Visitor Center and parking garage in historic Staunton.

Golden year: Staunton Augusta Art Center marks its 50th
A group of arts and culture enthusiasts got together in Staunton in 1961 with a simple mission: to make the arts more accessible to people in Staunton and Augusta County.
Their effort led to the founding of the Staunton Fine Arts Association, known today as the Staunton Augusta Art Center, which is marking its 50th year with a series of events highlighted by a Golden Gala at the Stonewall Jackson Hotel in May.
